Ken Salesky - Charter Class
Ken Salesky, Class of 1963, was born in Anaheim, California to Don and Margaret Salesky. He has one sister, Sharon, who lives in Laclede, Idaho. Ken is currently residing in Madison, Mississippi, but his permanent home is in Garfield, Washington.
Ken attended Lakeland High School during his junior and senior years and starred in football, basketball and track. (During his senior year, his football team was undefeated). After graduating from Lakeland in 1963, he went on to Wenatchee Valley College and participated, for two years in football and track – playing All-conference in football. His last two years of college were spent at the University of Idaho, participating in football both years and, again, selected for All-conference. He thanks his coaches Tom Kane and Glen Butler for the inspiration to excel in athletics.
In 1968, he signed on as a free agent with the Dallas Cowboys, but was waived by the Cowboys because he couldn’t finish camp due to a death in the family.
Ken and his wife, Dolores, have 5 children, Nick, Kristin, Tiffany, Eric and Mac. His plans for the future are to stay retired and “have fun in the sun.”
