Kole Clauson - Charter Class

Kole Clauson, Class of 1995, was born to Craig (deceased) and Claire Clauson-Fultz of Rathdrum, Idaho.  Kole’s father and mother are Lakeland High School alumni, as well as his step-father, Dana.  His brother, Esau and sister, Jaden graduated from Lakeland in 1992 and 1994, respectively.

Kole’s high school football achievements include 3-year football letterman, 2-time All-state running back, 2-time All-state linebacker, 2-time Most Valuable Player recipient,  All-USA back (USA Newspaper award), and played on an All-star team in New Zealand.

His high school wrestling achievements include 4-time tri-state placer, 3-time tri-state finalist, 2-time tri-state champion, voted outstanding wrestler at tri-state tournament in 1994, 3rd as a freshman at state, 2-time state champion, best winning percentage in Lakeland history – 99-6 record, 6th at junior national freestyle in Fargo, North Dakota.

Kole received a “full-ride” scholarship in wrestling to the University of Wisconsin.  His college achievements include:  All-rookie team during his freshman year, University National Freestyle Champion in 1998, 3-time Big-10 placer – placing 4th, 4th, and 3rd, 2000 NCAA All-American, All-American team to Poland, career record at University of Wisconsin 86-32, wrestled and beat current MMA stars Josh Koscheck and John Fitch.

For one season Kole coached wrestling at Kellogg Middle School donating many of his own items and bought wrestling shoes for those who couldn’t afford them.  He has also volunteered many hours to coaching youth at Real Life Ministries.

Today Kole resides in Wallace, Idaho where he enjoys fly-fishing, camping and hunting.
