Tracy Hanson - Charter Member
Tracy Hanson, Class of 1989, was born to Tom and Marcella Hanson in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. She has one sister, Debbie, also a graduate of Lakeland High School.
Tracy played basketball and golf at Lakeland High School from 1986 through 1989, played golf at San Jose State University from 1989 through 1993, and played professional golf on the LPGA tour for 16 years.
Her athletic accomplishments include: member of the 1989 Lakeland High School State Championship girl’s basketball team, 1989 female basketball A-2 Player of the Year, 1989 high school State Golf Champion, 11 individual collegiate titles, 1992 NCAA Division-1 team champions, 3-time “Academic” All-American at San Jose State, 4-time All-American at San Jose State, member of the San Jose State Hall of Fame, Idaho State Athletic Hall of Fame, and the National Golf Coaches Hall of Fame, 1994 Indonesian Open Champion, and the 1994 Ladies European Tour Rookie of the Year. Her best finish on the LPGA tour was a tie for 1st place. Her lowest score was 63. Randy Griffitts, co-founder of Henry-Griffitts Golf Company was her inspiration.
Since her retirement from the LPGA Tour in 2009, she has been involved in Athletes in Action Christian Ministry and Fellowship of Christian Athletes camps and mission trips, LPGA junior golf clinics, and many charity fundraiser events around the country.
Tracy currently resides in Florida, is the proud aunt of 3 beautiful children, and has traveled all over the world. Her most recent travels have been to Kenya, Uganda and 7 times to Israel. She is looking to move into full-time Christian Sports Ministry.
