Mike Miller - Class of 2015
Mike Miller, Class of 1986, was born to Joe and Sue Miller of Rathdrum, Idaho. Mike is the second oldest of 4 children with 2 brothers, Dwayne and Chris, and a sister, Theresa.
Mike attended Lakeland High School from 1982 through 1986. He participated in varsity wrestling and football for three years. After graduating from Lakeland, he played football at Eastern Oregon State College in La Grande, Oregon. He has a Bachelor of Science degree and has earned a Master of Arts degree in management and leadership from Webster University.
His athletic achievements include two-time placer at the tri-state tournament and two-time placer at the state tournament, winning fourth in 1985 and A-2 State Champion in 1986. He was an All-State selection as a running back in 1986. He was the special team’s captain in 1988 and 1989 and the captain of the defense in 1989 at Eastern Oregon, also earning All-Mount Hood League Honors in 1989. He was Lakeland’s Male Athlete of the Year in 1986.
Since college, Mike has had many jobs working with adolescents in northern Idaho. He worked in the Juvenile Probation Department assisting adjudicated youth and later worked for 15 years at Kootenai Health as the coordinator of the Youth Residential Program at Kootenai Health. He is currently the manager of the Patient Advocacy Department at Kootenai Health.
Mike resides at the family farm on Rathdrum Mountain growing Christmas trees with his mother and brother, Dwayne. He has two stepsons, Justin and Corey.
His plans for the future include a second master’s degree, creating a retirement income from tree sales and more time in the outdoors hunting and fishing.
