Jeremy Morse, Class of 1990, was born to Lon and Kathy Morse November 6th, 1971. He has on older brother, Rob, who graduated from Lakeland in 1988.
Jeremy was a 12-year senior at Lakeland. In high school he competed in football, track and wrestling. There, he was a member of the 2-time state championship football team. After high school, Jeremy attended Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. He competed in football and rugby while getting a degree in biochemistry. After college, he worked in medical research at Oregon Health Science’s University for four years before attending St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada. He graduated in 2003 before going on to do a family medicine residency in Casper, Wyoming.
During his years after high school he spent significant time traveling the world. He spent 6 months in Guatemala volunteering at a local medical facility and learning Spanish. As a soccer player in Guatemala, “Go Gringo Go!” was the chant his teammates used when he would out sprint the opposition on a break-away. Legend has it he had to run fast to make up for his lack of soccer skills. In Australia while doing medical research at the University of New South Wales, he competed in Rugby, American football and cricket. During a one year stint in Birmingham, England, he played rugby for the University of Birmingham which took second in the collegiate national championship that year. He also spent significant time in the Caribbean, Europe and Kodiak, Alaska.
Jeremy’s athletic accomplishments include: member of the 1988-89 and 1989-90 Idaho state championship high school football team. 1988-89 football MVP, Idaho offensive player of the year, 2-time Idaho all-star team, 2 time top 10 finalist for the Inland Empire male athlete of the year. During his junior and senior year he led all divisions in rushing yards, touch downs, and points scored. In college he was a 2 time scholar-athlete of the year, team MVP and selected to the first team All-Conference in football. By the time he graduated college he owned the NAIA record for the only triple-triple in NAIA history (more than 100 yards in rushing, receiving, and kick-off return in one game). He also was a state champion and MVP in American football in New South Wales, Australia. In rugby, he was a member of divisional championship teams in New Jersey and Birmingham, England. Jeremy has also received awards in motorcycle hill-climbing competitions, endurance motorcycle racing, and dirt track car racing.
Currently, Jeremy resides in Hidden Valley with his wife, Donna, and 10-year old son, Cody. He owns and operates Lakeland Immediate Care in Rathdrum. In the fall he enjoys bow hunting and in the winter he manages his son’s hockey team. In the spring and summer he spends significant time fishing local bass and pike tournaments as a back-up plan, just in case medicine doesn’t work out.
