John Kinsey - Class of 2015

John Kinsey, class of 1993, was born to Charles and Carol Kinsey in Shelbyville, Indiana. He has one older brother, Matt, who is also a graduate of Lakeland High School.

John attended Lakeland High School from 1990 through 1993.  He was the varsity quarterback for 2 years, participated in varsity basketball for 3 years, and varsity baseball for 3 years.   After graduating from Lakeland, he played collegiate football at Lewis and Clark College for 4 years and was honored with All-NCIC recognition twice at wide receiver. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science in 1997.

Athletic accomplishments at Lakeland include the following awards in football while the team reached the state semi-finals both years he started at quarterback:   2-time All-Intermountain League Quarterback, MVP of the 1992  team, 1992 All-North Idaho, 1992 All-State, 1992 GTE Academic All-State, 1993 North Idaho All-Star game participant, 1993 Down Under Bowl Participant.  Basketball:  1993 All-Intermountain League, 1993 North Idaho All-Star Team.  Baseball:  starting catcher on the first Lakeland High School State Championship team and All-Intermountain League catcher (1993). Additionally, John was named 1993 North Idaho Athlete of the Year.

After college, John lived in Portland, Seattle and New York City before finally settling down in Minneapolis. He currently is a Senior Account Executive at Apple, working to bring more technology into K-12 schools, often working with superintendents (similar to his father, Chuck) and teachers (like his mother, Carol).

John currently lives with his girlfriend Stacie, and two sons, Jack (12) and Nick (8) who are both active in football, basketball and baseball. They enjoy spending time on the lakes and growing the sport of wakesurfing.
