"RATHDRUM — Josh Stellflug hit 4 of 5 3-pointers and finished with 16 points as the visiting Lake City Timberwolves beat the Lakeland Hawks 60-55 in nonleague play Saturday at Hawk Court.

Seth Hanson and Jack Kiesbuy each hit a pair of 3-pointers for Lake City (2-9), and finished with 15 and 14 points, respectively.

“Give Lake City a lot of credit,” Lakeland assistant coach Tyrel Derrick said. “Coach (Jim) Winger did a good job changing defenses. And they executed well, did a good job in transition defense, and that hurt us in our flow.”

Lake City shot 58 percent (19 of 33) from the field, including 9 of 17 from 3-point range.

Ben Zubaly scored a game-high 19 points for Lakeland (4-5), and Noah Haaland grabbed 10 rebounds.

Lakeland plays host to Coeur d’Alene on Tuesday.

Lake City visits Coeur d’Alene on Friday for the Fight for the Fish spirit game.
