NINE MILE FALLS, Wash. — Katy Ryan took a feed from Taylor Elpers and scored the go-ahead basket with 30 seconds left, and the visiting Hawks beat the Eagles.
Ryan finished with 18 points, 14 rebounds and six blocked shots for Lakeland (3-4).
“They were really physical with her again tonight,” Lakeland coach Steve Seymour said. “And she just kept trying to stay upright in there and did a good job on the offensive glass. The girls did a good job of penetrating and finding her.”
Mel Loutzenhiser added 11 points, and Elpers had eight rebounds and three assists for Lakeland, which plays host to Kellogg on Thursday.
