"The junior left fielder hit the first two home runs of her career and finished with seven RBIs, including a three-run shot to end the game as the Hawks defeated the Sandpoint Bulldogs 15-5 in five innings on Saturday to win the 4A Region 1 softball championship. “She’s been my solid,” Lakeland coach Colleen Bevacqua said. “We talked the other day ... ‘Erika, you’re due.’ She definitely knows when to turn it on; she’s a gamer.”

The senior pitcher/outfielder hit two homers, drove in seven runs and struck out seven as the Hawks beat Moscow 22-12 last Saturday in a 4A Inland Empire League softball game. “She is such an amazing person, athlete and team leader,” coach Colleen Bevacqua said. “Her teammates really have a lot of confidence in her, and truly follow her lead. She can play anywhere on the field, do it well, and make it look easy. I am very proud of her, and I’m sad that she is a senior.”
